Bola's Story

The Brief

We are proud to be part of the #ConnectingTheDots series presented by MedTech Europe and produced for Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies by BBC Storyworks.

For patients living with sickle cell disease, management of the condition is a lifelong endeavour. Regular blood transfusions can be an uncomfortable but necessary treatment for symptoms which include chronic anaemia and episodes of severe pain. New technology is now transforming the process of red blood exchange and helping to improve patients’ quality of treatment and life.

Producing an episode for the series, the Rise team had the honour of getting to know Bola who has Sickle Cell. During production we gained an understanding of her condition and learnt about the amazing progress that is being made to treat it thanks to technological innovation.

EZRA needed a video to advertise their exciting new partnership with West Ham United Women’s football team. The topline brief was to create an engaging film, showcasing the similarities between professional coaching in the workplace and coaching in sport.
