Harper's Bazaar

Women Of The Year Awards

The Brief

We have covered the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards every year since 2015. It’s a genuine pleasure to capture and it’s a key highlight in our event calendar. The deliverable and turnaround times are very similar every year – a premium highlights film, as quickly as possible!

Production

Every year we capture the red carpet, award ceremony speeches, an array of b-roll from the event itself, and backstage video portraits of the winners and nominees. We capture the backstage portraits alongside the fantastic photographer and set designers.

Many of the key moments happen simultaneously so its essential that we have enough crew to cover every element of the event. We usually have a crew of 4 camera operators on-site, alongside a director/producer, DIT/Editor and sound recordist.

In addition to the main highlights film, we also produce a short social clip focusing on the best backstage moments from the photography studio. See that below

Post Production

The deadline for edit delivery varies a bit from year to year but turnaround times are always within 24-48 hours. So, every year we include an on-site DIT / Editor to immediately ingest and categorise the footage throughout the night.

They also start working on a “selects” sequence, choosing the best shots from each camera angle. This streamlines the editing process for the overnight editors who are on hand to pick up on the edit immediately after the footage has arrived back at the Rise edit suite. We usually have 1 or 2 editors working on the edit together overnight, depending on the deadline requirement that year.

See below for videos from previous years.

We captured designer Priya Ahluwalia’s latest collaboration with Pandora – from behind-the-scenes engraving at their Oxford Street flagship to a candid studio interview in Soho. The final film celebrates her creative process and the artistry behind the new engravable jewellery collection.
